BC Hydro's "Dam Discovery Day" offers complimentary admission and guided tours at all three visitor centres on July 16
VANCOUVER: BC Hydro is inviting families, travellers and road-trippers to discover a unique side of British Columbia this summer with Dam Discovery Day, offering free admission to all three of its seasonal visitor centres on Thursday, July 16.
Whether planning a family vacation, weekend getaway or educational day trip, visitors can explore how clean hydroelectricity powers British Columbia through interactive exhibits, guided tours and hands-on experiences.
For one day only, admission will be free at:
- the Powerhouse at Stave Falls in Mission,
- the Revelstoke Dam Visitor Centre in Revelstoke, and
- the W.A.C. Bennett Dam Visitor Centre near Hudson's Hope.
Regular admission is $8 for adults and $7 for youth and seniors, allowing a family of four with two children to save up to $30 by visiting on Dam Discovery Day.
Visitors can also take advantage of complimentary guided tours throughout the day. Led by knowledgeable staff, the tours offer a behind-the-scenes look at BC Hydro's generating facilities, the engineering behind hydroelectric dams and the critical role clean electricity plays in powering homes, businesses and communities across British Columbia.
Three unique destinations, three distinct experiences:
