Sustainable communities program

Reducing emissions, improving energy efficiency
Whether you're leading the way to high-performance buildings, advancing home energy retrofit and solar initiatives, developing work-force training, or looking to make it easier for residents and businesses to use electric vehicles, we want to help.
We partner with local governments and industry partners to enable the energy transition. Energy policy, codes, and standards play a critical role in advancing sustainable communities and keeping our grid affordable and reliable.
Peer networks
We invest in the Community Energy Association (CEA) to support our partners across B.C. with coordinated and consistent policy development and implementation for buildings, transportation and power management. Our longstanding partnership with the CEA delivers impactful, topical peer networks for local government staff where members come together to learn, share, and collaborate.
Membership in peer networks is open to all staff from municipalities, regional districts, and Indigenous communities in B.C. It's also open to staff from other levels of government, utilities, academic institutions, and other municipally adjacent organizations upon invitation.
Visit the CEA's peer networks page to learn more and join a network.
