Get your free smart thermostats

Sinopé & Mysa, two smart thermostats available through the free smart thermostat offer.

For homes with electric baseboard heating

This fall, we're making it easier for customers with electric baseboard heating to manage their energy use with free smart thermostats enrolled in Peak Saver. Eligible residential customers can receive up to five free smart thermostats, valued at $600.

By participating in Peak Saver with your smart thermostat, you’ll be eligible for a seasonal reward of $50 per household for helping us manage demand on our grid during periods of high energy use. This helps us ensure safe, reliable electricity across the province.

  • During these occasional periods of high electricity demand, we'll hold peak events, during which we may adjust enrolled thermostats by one to three degrees.
  • Adjustments are temporary and designed to have minimal impact on comfort.
  • Each event lasts no more than four hours, after which your thermostat resumes normal operation.
  • You can opt out of an event at any time and maintain full override control of your thermostat. However, if you opt out of more than 50% of events in a season, you may not be eligible for the seasonal reward.
  • If you order free thermostats, you won’t be eligible for the Peak Saver enrollment bonus. However, you may still receive a seasonal reward, which is provided as a bill credit after the winter season.

These thermostats are designed for homes with electric baseboard heating, but wiring can vary from home to home. That's why we're offering two thermostat options:

Not sure which thermostat is right for you? Use the Sinopé or Mysa compatibility checker to see which thermostat may work with your home's wiring.

If you're still unsure, a certified electrician can help identify your wiring and determine which thermostat is compatible with your home.

This offer includes thermostats from the only two Canadian companies that are compatible with electric baseboard heating and Peak Saver. Not all smart thermostats meet these requirements.
