Update on power restoration after windstorm

Crews continue to restore customers as quickly and safely as possible

The windstorm that hit B.C. on Saturday knocked out power to about half a million customers across B.C., with the majority in the Lower Mainland. As of early Sunday, we still had about 180,000 customers without power.

We apologize for any trouble you've had accessing outages updates online, as we're having technical issues on bchydro.com. Please check back in an hour or two. For now, you can view PDF lists with specific outages information for the Lower Mainland, and you can check for similar updates via our twitter@bchydro.

Crews from across the province worked through the night to restore power to tens of thousands of homes and businesses across B.C., and they continue to make progress. As we work to restore power, we want to first ensure the public is safe while we get power on in the highest-density areas, with the biggest number of customers, first.

To report an outage, call 1 888 POWERON (1 888 769 3766), or *49376 (*HYDRO) from any cell phone. You can also get general outages updates on Twitter by following @bchydro.

Crews are focused on responding to hundreds of repair calls and, unfortunately, it takes time to respond to each call. We'll continue to provide updates on estimated restoration times, but estimates can change as crews make progress and assess damage.

We appreciate your patience as crews work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
