Request to join the registered civil contractor list
Are you an experienced civil construction company? If you’re interested in being part of our registered civil contractor list, submit a request below to join.
Customers are required to choose a contractor from this list for construction of civil works on public or private property in B.C.
To qualify for inclusion on our registered civil contractor list, you must:
- Have WorkSafeBC registration in good standing.
- Understand and agree to adhere to our distribution technical standards and guides, including:
- ES54 Underground Civil,
- Class of work specifications (No. 1323R10 and general quality control plan), and
- Working near power lines
- Digging near power poles [PDF, 232 KB]
- Have completed our electrical safety training for trades and workers.
- Have completed our training course: Working with BC Hydro on WorkSafeBC's 30M33 Process.
- Have read and agree to the Registered Civil Contractor Terms & Conditions [PDF, 166 KB]
In addition, a demonstrated history of completing compliant BC Hydro infrastructure projects will expedite our review process.
Stated completion of these qualifications does not guarantee acceptance onto the list. All submissions are carefully reviewed by our team.
To submit your request, you’ll need:
- Business license documentation.
- WorkSafeBC clearance letter.
- Proof of completion of our electrical safety training for trades and workers and working with BC Hydro on WorkSafe BC’s 30M33 training
- If you took this online, you’ll need to upload a copy of your certificate of completion.
- If you took this in person, you’ll need to upload a list of all participants who completed the training, and provide us with the training date, training location, and contact information of the person who arranged the training.
