About the Call for Power
We issued a competitive Call for Power in July 2025 and accepted bids until January 19, 2026 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time.
The 2025 Call for Power was built on the success of the 2024 Call for Power and reflects the importance of procuring clean, renewable energy to support B.C.'s growing population and industries.
With the 2025 Call for Power, we sought to acquire up to 5,000 GWh/year of additional clean and renewable energy and expect to award Electricity Purchase Agreements (EPAs) in early 2026.

Questions on the Request for Proposals ("RFP"), the RFP process and related documents issued during the call process, and BC Hydro's responses, are posted online.
BC Hydro's answers to Proponent's questions are for general information only. They do not constitute legal or other advice and did not amend or form part of the RFP, unless confirmed by Addendum or revised RFP Documents.
First Nations
Working with First Nations and advancing economic reconciliation is a priority for us. New to the 2025 Call is the First Nations Clean Energy Representative, a resource to help ensure that First Nations are meaningfully informed, supported and engaged throughout the procurement process.
Interested parties can review reference information on concerns raised by First Nations that they should be aware of in their consultations. Note that neither the list of concerns nor the list of First Nations who raised them are exhaustive.
