The Partners in Indigenous Energy Efficiency & Resilience program is designed for Indigenous Governing Bodies that are coordinating home energy efficiency upgrades in multiple homes for their community members.

Take advantage of heating system maintenance rebates to keep your space and water heating systems in top condition. Receive rebates for servicing new systems and purchasing filters for space and water heating equipment such as heat pumps and furnaces.

The offer

Annual funding up to $100 per unit, per home is available through the Partners in Indigenous Energy Efficiency & Resilience program to help you operate and maintain new space and water heating equipment and controls, or to purchase filters for heat pumps and furnaces.

Eligible products

Appliance serviced or filter replaced Annual maintenance funding
Gas furnace $100 per unit (maximum one per home)
Gas boiler $100 per unit (maximum one per home)
Non-condensing gas storage tank water heater $50 per unit (maximum one per home)
Condensing gas water heater (tankless or condensing storage tank) $100 per unit (maximum one per home)
Gas fireplaces $50 per unit (maximum two per home)
Electric heat pump $100 per unit (maximum one per home)
Dual fuel heating system $200 per unit (maximum one per home)
Filters for furnaces, boilers or electric heat pumps $25 each (maximum two per home)
Filters for dual fuel heating systems $25 each (maximum two furnace filters per home, and two heat pump filters per home)

 

How it works

  1. Undertake annual servicing of equipment purchased for home heating systems.

  2. Apply online via the Conservation and Energy Management (CEM) Hub for your heating system maintenance rebate.

  3. We'll review your application. If approved, we'll process the payment.

Eligibility

  • Connected to a current residential utility service account with BC Hydro or FortisBC and heated primarily by electricity.

  • Occupied as a primary residence.

  • Located in BC Hydro's service territory [PDF, 177 KB] or FortisBC's service territory.

  • Available to individually metered single-family or secondary suite detached dwellings, mobile homes on a permanent foundation, or side-by-side duplexes/homes or townhouses.

  • Multi-unit residential buildings such as condominiums, high-rises, and apartment buildings. If you're looking to make energy efficiency upgrades to these building types, you may be eligible for our multi-unit residential building offers.

  • Vacation homes or premises that are not year-round primary residences.

  • Garages, workshops, and outbuildings.

  • Newly constructed building or a new addition to an existing building.

How to apply

Applications are completed online once the heating system maintenance services or filter purchases are complete. You'll be asked to log in to the Conservation and Energy Management (CEM) Hub. If you don't have an account with CEM Hub yet, an Energy Coach can register you.

To apply, have the following documents complete and ready to upload:

  • Paid invoices. Copies of all itemized invoices for your project including equipment purchase and maintenance costs.

  • Project workbook (.xlsx format). Completed workbook containing upgrade details and number of homes for each.
