Installation of two new generating units

There are five main steps to the installation of each generating unit at the Mica Generating Station:

1. Install draft tube and embed in concrete.
2. Install spiral case that houses the turbine and embed it in concrete.
3. Deliver and install the new turbine.
4. Install the generator.
5. Supply and install the switchgear and other electrical equipment. Commission and test the generating unit.

A new capacitor station

A new capacitor station, needed to maintain reliable transmission, was constructed near Seymour Arm north of Shuswap Lake.
