Scheduling in New Time Zone

Further to the Bulletin posted on September 15, 2026, BC Hydro is adopting Pacific Time (PCT) year-round, which is equivalent to MST / UTC-7. Customers submitting a TSR will need to choose Mountain Standard Time (MST) on webSmartOASIS if the TSR Start or Stop Time is after midnight November 1, 2026.
Potential Increase to ATC

BC Hydro is anticipating a potential increase to long term ATC of up to 70 MW on the US-BC path and up to 370 MW on the BC-US path because of changes to grandfathered agreements. We’ll provide more information as we receive it in a subsequent bulletin.
BC Adopting Permanent Daylight Saving Time

Further to the government announcement earlier this year, “the Province of British Columbia is adopting permanent year-round daylight saving (DST) to improve people’s overall health, reduce disruptions for families, simplify scheduling and provide an extra hour of evening light during the winter months.” Thus, the time change that usually occurs on the first Sunday in November (November 1, 2026, this year) will be eliminated and stay permanently in DST. We will post more bulletins as we advance this change in our business systems and the impact to TSRs and scheduling.
