Non-Firm Transmission Service – Change to Curtailment Methodology

Further to the bulletins posted on November 29, 2013 and on December 16, 2014, BC Hydro has changed its curtailment methodology for Non-Firm transmission service from last-in first-out to pro-rata, which is in alignment with industry practices. Thus, BC Hydro’s Curtailment of Transmission and Energy Business Practice is amended to reflect this change and will be effective October 25, 2016 by HE09.


webSmartTag in Production Effective October 24

Further to the bulletins posted on September 2, June 21 and 17, April 25, 15, 14, 6 and 4, March 17 and 3, 2016, December 29 and 23, November 20 and October 26, 2015, webSmartTag will be the e-Tagging system in production effective 8am PDT on October 24 for OATI customers. OATI held training sessions throughout 2016 in preparation for the transition from webTag to webSmartTag. The final OATI complimentary webSmartTag training sessions will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at 10:30 AM CDT and Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 2:00 PM CDT. To register for either of these sessions, please email OATI at registration@oati.net. If you are unable to attend one of these sessions, or if you wish to discuss more in-depth training opportunities, please contact OATI at training@oati.net.


Posting of Transmission Service Offerings Business Practice

Further to the bulletin posted on October 4, BC Hydro did not receive any feedback from stakeholders. Therefore, the amendments that were proposed to the Posting of Transmission Service Offerings Business Practice are effective immediately.

BC Hydro has received a request for clarification on the rate harmonization provision wherein an OATT customer may receive the $0 rate per Schedule 01 if the POD is a point of interconnection between the BC Hydro Transmission System and the transmission system of FortisBC Inc. As approved by the BCUC, the objective of harmonization is only to relieve OATT customers from rate “pancaking” of point-to-point transmission wheeling rates. Please provide feedback on this clarification in the Posting of Transmission Service Offerings business practice to Brenda Ambrosi on or before October 19.

webSmartOASIS is Now the Solo Production System

Further to the bulletins posted on September 2, June 21 and 17, April 25, 15, 14, 6 and 4, March 17 and 3, 2016, December 29 and 23, November 20 and October 26, 2015, webSmartOASIS is officially the only system in production effective today. webOASIS is no longer available. webSmartOASIS training will continue throughout September. webSmartTag Training Sessions

OATI continues to offer complimenatry webSmartTag training sessions via webcast throughout the months of September and October. These training sessions have been revamped based on customer feedback. webOASIS to Retire on September 14, 2016

Access to webOASIS will be terminated and the system will be retired on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. OATI strongly encourages the use of webSmartOASIS for daily tasks and to verify local PC settings.

OATI will be providing complimentary training sessions through September 2016 for the webSmartOASIS system. To register for a training session, click here. To discuss in-depth training options, contact training@oati.net. For any system questions, please contact support@oati.net.

In addition to complimentary training sessions, OATI has updated content on the webSmartOASIS webHelp system. Click on the blue "?" icon on the top right hand corner of the webSmartOASIS system to access this revised content, including product videos.
