Engagement plans
First Nation participation in the upcoming Call for Power is a high priority. Collaborating with First Nations will ensure First Nations’ interests inform the design of the Call to create opportunities for meaningful benefits.
BC Hydro initiated engagement with First Nations on the Call to build awareness about the Call, hear their perspectives around the Call engagement and Call design and in order to maximize potential opportunities for First Nation participation.
The next step is to hold First Nations specific workshops to gather more feedback and input, particularly around First Nations partnership models, aimed at advancing economic reconciliation.
Through this important work, BC Hydro aims to advance reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
