Brian Knoke

Brian joined the Site C project team in 2018 and was appointed Executive Vice-President, Site C in January 2025. In this role, he holds the overall responsibility for BC Hydro’s largest capital project, a third dam and hydroelectric generating station on the Peace River in northeast B.C.

Brian joined BC Hydro as a co-op student in 1997 and was hired full time in 1999 as a member of the engineer-in-training program. He spent his first ten years with BC Hydro primarily focused in generation operations. He then became a project manager in the Generation Project group in 2009 and helped lead the $1.1 billion John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project, which received the Outstanding Project Award from the Canadian Hydro Power Association in 2018.

Prior to joining the BC Hydro executive team, Brian served as the VP, Dam Site for Site C. In that role, he led the teams responsible for all aspects of the project at the dam site including the management and delivery of large civil contracts, equipment supply contracts, and balance of plant contracts.

Brian is a professional engineer and has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria. He is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys staying active with family and friends, whether it's golfing, biking, or exploring the beautiful waters and mountains of British Columbia. Brian lives in Port Moody with his wife and two kids.
