High load move request terms and conditions

This request must be submitted to BC Hydro by the carrier (the “Customer”) when moving loads over 4.88 meters (16.01 feet) high (“High Loads”) through or near BC Hydro owned systems and assets (the “Move”). The Move may require BC Hydro to adjust its lines or other assets to protect near live electrical equipment.

The Customer is responsible for BC Hydro's actual costs incurred to accommodate the Move. If BC Hydro determines that BC Hydro must make adjustments to its assets including the power lines, a prepayment deposit (the "Deposit") may be required before BC Hydro begins any work. The Customer will be notified if a Deposit is required and receive an invoice accordingly. After BC Hydro receives the Deposit (if applicable) from the Customer, it will evaluate the Move request and provide a fee estimate for work required (if applicable) and along with a draft of a High Load Move Support Agreement [PDF, 98 KB] (“Agreement”) for signature(s). When applicable, the Deposit will be applied against the actual costs incurred by BC Hydro associated with the Move, and BC Hydro will either issue a subsequent invoice or refund the difference as applicable.

The Customer must sign the Agreement before BC Hydro can provide its sign-off on the Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement (CVSE) Form (1052).

When BC Hydro determines that assistance is necessary for the Move, the Customer must not proceed with the Move under, through, or near any BC Hydro owned systems and assets including without limitation, its power lines unless: 1) written authorization has been issued , 2) the Customer and BC Hydro have both signed the Agreement; and 3) BC Hydro has also signed off on the CVSE 1052 Form in respect of the Move.

BC Hydro makes no guarantees that the work completed by BC Hydro will mitigate the risk of the Customer incurring any and all losses, damages or injuries to any property or persons with respect to the Move. The Customer must inspect the affected and surrounding areas with due inquiry after the completion of the work prior to undertaking the Move, and proceeds with the Move at its sole risk.

The Customer acknowledges and agrees that BC Hydro's Terms and Conditions of Service apply and are binding.

Changes made within five (5) days of the scheduled Move date may result in delays and/or additional charges for which the Customer is solely responsible.

The Customer is responsible to obtain any necessary permits, including without limitation, permits from aerial utilities.

BC Hydro will handle the Customer’s personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
