Our Community Team
BC Hydro's Community Team attends virtual and in-person events around the province to educate British Columbians about energy conservation, making the switch to clean electricity, and electrical safety.
What we do
We love meeting people from across the province at various events – everything from small classroom presentations to multi-day regional home shows.
If you’re interested in having us attend your event, complete our event request form.
Here’s more about what we do:
Our team attends community events, such as electric vehicle fairs and sustainability events, throughout the province. We bring interactive activities to educate attendees on energy conservation, electric vehicles, and electrical safety.
Presentations to community groups and schools
We present to a variety of different groups, including new immigrant societies, workplaces, and community groups. We can cover topics on energy conservation tips to understanding your electricity bill.
Are you a teacher looking for a presentation for your students? Visit our Power Smart for Schools website for more information on how to have us join your class.
The Power Smart for Schools Program also has educational materials for curriculum-aligned activities, worksheets, and videos to share with your students on topics ranging from electrical safety, energy conservation, sustainability, and more.
Retail stores and home shows
You may also find us at various retail locations and home shows in communities across B.C. If you see us, stop by and say hi and learn about rebates on energy-efficient products that are available and new ways to save money on your electricity bill.
