Enroll your Eguana home battery

As a customer participating in our West Kelowna Solar Home Battery Trial, you’re required to enroll your battery in our Peak Rewards program. By enrolling in Peak Rewards, you'll allow us to remotely test your battery and aggregate it with other load control devices in your community during peak periods of electricity demand. This will help us determine the benefit to our electrical distribution system.

How it works

When you enroll your Eguana home battery in Peak Rewards, we'll be able to remotely adjust the device during "peak time events."    

  • During an event, your battery will discharge to power your home circuits. Your battery will never discharge below 20% to ensure there's some energy left.
  • Events last no more than four consecutive hours.
  • You'll always maintain full override control of your device.
  • After an event ends, your device will return to its regular settings and your battery will recharge.

This trial will run for two years from the date of registration in the Peak Rewards program, as outlined in your signed agreement. 

During the trial period you won't be compensated for participating in Peak Rewards. However, after the trial is complete, you'll receive payments as outlined in the current Peak Rewards program rules in exchange for your ongoing participation.
