Business Express Direct Install Pilot

A pilot offer that provides your business with incentives to become more energy efficient and use less energy during peak hours.

We're offering businesses in specific areas an incentive of $2,500 plus additional funding up to a total of $100,000 based on peak demand savings for eligible energy efficient lighting, controls, and variable frequency drives. Businesses may also be eligible for free smart devices.

This pilot offer is limited to invited business customers located in areas of high growth and increasing demand for electricity.

The offer

Accepted applicants will receive a free site assessment from a participating BC Hydro Alliance member to identify saving opportunities. The Alliance member will determine appropriate measures and devices to be offered for your business and the incentive amount your project is eligible for.

Eligible participants will receive $2,500 plus additional incentives up to $100,000 based on the project's peak demand savings, capped at 100% of project costs. Available products include eligible energy efficient lighting, controls, and variable frequency drives, which will be professionally installed by a BC Hydro Alliance member. Projects must achieve at least 1 kW of peak demand savings to be eligible.

If we determine you're eligible, select businesses will have smart devices installed for free that allow you to earn rewards through our automated demand response program.

How it works

If you’ve heard about this offer but aren’t sure whether you qualify, reach out to your Business Energy Advisor or Key Account Manager. We’ll assess your eligibility, and if approved, you’ll be connected with our trusted program partner, Guidehouse. They support program delivery by handling site assessments, installations, and related administrative services.

Our program partner, Guidehouse, will confirm a date and time for your site visit with a BC Hydro Alliance member.

During the site visit, the contractor will assess your site and determine appropriate measures to be offered for your business. Guidehouse will review the assessment and quote from the contractor.

Once approved, if you choose to proceed you will be required to sign the order work acceptance and applicant declaration to proceed with installation.

Once the work order is signed, the contractor will schedule an installation date with you within 10 business days of receiving consent. The Alliance member will install the eligible measures and devices.

Note: As a part of the program your smart devices will be enrolled in the automated demand response program.
