Program benefits
Through the sustainable communities program, we provide expertise, education, and funding to help eligible local governments improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) in their communities.
The offers
We provide funding to hire staff, conduct research and training, and develop policies and programs to help your community advance energy efficiency and low carbon electrification. We can also connect you with our industry partners so you can work together on achieving your goals.
Community energy managers, internships and co-op students
We provide funding for local governments to hire staff to lead energy efficiency and emissions reduction initiatives at the community level.
Funding for community energy projects
We provide funding for projects and programs that advance local government action on energy efficiency and emissions reductions.
