BC Hydro president and CEO responds to substation decision

VANCOUVER: BC Hydro president and CEO Chris O’Riley released the following statement today in response to the Vancouver Park Board’s decision to approve BC Hydro’s request for underground rights-of-way and access easement in Nelson Park for the new West End Substation.

“I would like to thank the Vancouver Park Board for its decision Monday night as we continue to move forward with plans to build the West End Substation. These property rights and shared use of land are important components for the construction, operation and maintenance of the new underground substation, which will ensure our customers in downtown Vancouver continue to have access to reliable power.”

Vancouver City Council will vote on the two components on Tuesday evening. For more information on the West End Substation, visit bchydro.com/westendsub.
