Energy-efficient Power Smart home makeover
Kamloops resident Sheila Anderson has won an energy-efficient home makeover!
3,000 people from across BC sent in their tips on how they are smart with their power to BC Hydro’s “Power is Precious Pointers” contest. Ms. Anderson’s name was randomly selected to win the grand prize of an energy-efficient home makeover. The grand prize includes an:
- An energy-efficient home makeover with celebrity interior designer Jillian Harris
- Energy efficient lighting
- Energy-efficient appliances
Ms. Anderson’s power smart tip was:
- “Wash laundry in cold water and to cut down on dryer time, put a dry towel in the dryer with the wet clothes.”
Ms. Anderson is going to redo her laundry room and upgrade lighting in her home using CFL and LED lighting. CFLs and LEDs are at least 75% more efficient than incandescent lighting.
