Think you’re so power smart?  Take a picture and show us!

Vancouver, B.C. – A picture’s worth a thousand words and, during Power Smart month, that picture could win you a thousand-dollar-plus camera! Take a photo of how smart you are with your power and you could win a Nikon DSLR camera, valued at approximately $1400.

BC Hydro’s third annual Team Power Smart Photo Contest, sponsored by London Drugs, is underway and this year’s theme is: “This is what I do to be smart with my power.”

All 10 finalists will each win a $100 London Drugs Photo Lab gift certificate and Earthopoly, a board game that features B.C. landmarks and teaches energy-efficient tips. All winning photographs will be displayed in Victoria's Royal BC Museum and posted online at bchydro.com and londondrugs.com.

To submit a photo, visit www.londondrugs.com/teampowersmart. You must be a Team Power Smart member to enter the contest. Joining is easy at www.bchydro.com/teampowersmart.

Deadline for submission is Saturday, October 15, 2011. Judging will take place on Oct. 28, 2011 and winners will be announced on Nov. 1.

The judging panel are Team Power Smart Leader, NBA superstar Steve Nash; Tim Willis, Director, Royal British Columbia Museum; Andy Karhmann, London Drugs Business Unit Manager, Photo Electronics and Photolab; Larry Paris, winner of the 2009 Team Power Smart Photo Contest; and Jim Nelson, Senior Marketing Manager, Power Smart, BC Hydro.

Photo submissions will be judged on originality, relevance to theme, composition, lighting and technical qualities. Last year’s winners are available to view here.
