Power Smart Shop: your shortcut to buying better

The Power Smart Shop makes energy efficient shopping surprisingly easy. Its search tool gives each product an Enervee Score, which quickly shows how efficient it is compared to every other model in the same category. Whether you are looking at fridges, washers, dryers, thermostats, lighting, and more, the score helps you make a confident choice. The Shop also connects you directly to partner retailers where you can buy the products, shows price comparisons and highlights any rebates or savings opportunities available through programs like Peak Saver.

Customers who try the Shop tend to stick with it. In a survey last year, nearly 9 out of ten users said they were very likely to use it again the next time they shop for an electricity-powered product, which tells us it is making a real difference in how people buy.

The Shop has also grown a lot since it first launched. What began with two retail partners now includes nine: Canadian Tire, Coast Appliances, Midland Appliance, Trail Appliances, Best Buy, The Home Depot, IKEA, Sinopé and Mysa. And the product lineup keeps expanding too. Alongside the original categories like fridges, washers, dryers, dishwashers, light bulbs and thermostats, you can now explore detailed information on air purifiers, air conditioners, showerheads, ranges, range hoods, freezers, combination washer dryers, cooktops, televisions, monitors and a wide range of connected home products.

The idea is simple. If you’re going to buy something that uses electricity, the Power Smart Shop helps you choose the option that uses it efficiently.
