OASIS

Open Access Same-time Information System (OASIS) allows registered users to make reservations for transmission service on the BC Hydro transmission system.

OASIS was developed in compliance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) order that all utilities that own or control transmission used to transmit electric energy in interstate commerce should participate in or have an OASIS. As the electric industry becomes deregulated, OASIS will be the entry point to direct access and comparability for all its users. The result should be lower electricity prices for consumers, greater accessibility to other transmission systems and more competition for power in the wholesale market.

BC Hydro is part of OATI OASIS. For transmission service on neighbouring systems, consult Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) or Bonneville Power Administration (BPA)
