Tofino and Ucluelet are so relaxing, you may feel like time slows down when you visit. And if you visit right now, you'll really feel that way: extensive work at substations means supplying west coast communities from a specific generating station slightly changes power frequency – which means clocks are slowing down. We hear from one of our engineers about what it's like to work and play in northern B.C. And what happens when a great horned owl meets our power lines and a kite? Our crews head to the rescue.

Even creatures of the night need a little help sometimes. Our crews responded to a trouble call where it was reported that an owl was tangled in a string wrapped around a live power line – and that's exactly what they found. The team de-energized and grounded the line so they could safely free the injured owl before transporting it to a wildlife rescue centre to recover.
