Investigation phase results
Buildings that have completed the Continuous Optimization program continue to show impressive results.
On average, buildings that completed the implementation phase show a 7.3% overall cost reduction on average, with a 1.7 year simple payback*.
For a more detailed look at the results, and a breakdown of the different building sectors, see program results [XLSX, 244 KB].

What are operational savings?
Many of our customers are familiar with the term "re-commissioning", but are curious as to what exactly constitutes re-commissioning conservation measures, also known as operational savings measures.
The following table provides a list of the top ten measures found by the program's re-commissioning consultants:
Rank | Measure |
---|---|
1 |
Reduce equipment runtime |
2 |
Optimize economizer operation |
3 |
Eliminate simultaneous heating and cooling |
4 |
Optimize supply air temperature |
5 |
Optimize zone / setback temperature set points |
6 |
Eliminate unnecessary lighting hours |
7 |
Optimize ventilation rates |
8 |
Volume control for pumps and fans |
9 |
Add / optimize chilled water temperature reset |
