LA9 Health and Safety Topics included in Formal Trade Union Agreements

BC Hydro has a number of health and safety provisions contained within its International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and Canadian Office & Professional Employees Union (COPE) Collective Agreements covering areas such as:

1. Joint Safety Practices Committees – authority and consultation over safe work practices.
2. Safety Clothing – availability, cost sharing, standards.
3. Safety Equipment – availability, cost sharing, standards.
4. Safety Training – programs and standards.

In addition, BC Hydro and its Union partners ensure that all work practices and polices are in full accordance with the BC Workers Compensation Act and supporting Regulations.
