Statement on independent review of BC Hydro’s energy purchases from independent power producers
BC Hydro has received the recent review on independent power producers commissioned by the Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources and we accept the findings in the report. We cooperated fully with Ken Davidson, the author of the report, providing access to information and interviews with employees.
Since last year, government has been looking at energy procurement as part of its comprehensive review of BC Hydro and will deliver its direction on next steps this week.
We remain focussed on keeping our rates affordable for our customers, and will continue to work with government to find opportunities to lower our costs.
