Move your business service

Business customers within BC Hydro's service area can apply online to transfer service locations. The following information is required:

  • Old service address
  • New service address
  • Contact phone number
  • Landlord's name and phone number (if you're renting)

Fees and documentation

  • We charge a standard fee of $12.40 + GST to set up service at a new location.
  • A security deposit may be required for new accounts. If required, an invoice will be sent and this deposit will be due within 10 days of the mailing date.
  • For some new accounts, we may require a rental or purchase agreement for proof of tenancy or ownership. If proof is required, we'll contact you.

Billing preferences


In order to manage your BC Hydro account online, you will need to provide BC Hydro with some contact information (e.g. your name and your business email address, contact telephone number; details that may otherwise be located on a business card) along with the BC Hydro business account number. We consider the information associated with your business account to be non-personal information, regardless of business type (including limited companies, sole proprietorships and corporations).

BC Hydro offers these online facilities in furtherance of its mandate under the Hydro and Power Authority Act, the Clean Energy Act, and the BC Hydro Electric Tariff regulated by the BC Utilities Commission under the Utilities Commission Act.
