BC Hydro at work: climbing poles

BC Hydro Trades Trainees practicing their pole climbing skills in Surrey last week. If they choose to pursue an apprenticeship as a power line technician, they will be required to complete 42-months of on-the-job and classroom training.
 
Power line technicians are responsible for constructing, maintaining and repairing the electrical transmission and distribution systems. They play a vital role in ensuring the reliable delivery of electricity to homes and businesses across B.C.
