Book, movie and TV picks from our employee network
There's something for everyone on these eclectic lists
We asked our various employee networks to come up with some of their favourite books and movies, old and new, to kick off the new year. The result is a mix of non-fiction deep dives and heart-rending fiction, along with some intriguing movies and TV series that are as much about discovery as they are about entertainment.
And here's the kicker. You should be able to find most of the books on the list, and many of the movie DVDs, available to borrow from your local B.C. public library. Once you're done here, don't miss out on our companion piece that focusses on 10 things you may not know about today's libraries.
Our employee networks are designed to help employees and the company understand emerging issues, systemic barriers or gaps in our systems, processes, and practices. They're also active in promoting great resources, including books, TV shows, and movies.
Note that the books on our list include links to goodreads.com so you can get a plot summary and read reviews. And for movies, we've linked to metacritic.com for details and reviews.
