EV charger rebates – Apply for this after you’ve received a quote for the chargers and charger installation costs (does not need to be associated with an EV Ready plan).

You can apply for these rebates one at a time as your project progresses or apply for multiple rebates at once (see below) to help make your project more efficient.

You can apply for multiple rebates at once with the following combinations:

EV Ready plan + EV Ready infrastructure rebates (only valid if your property created an EV Ready plan without a rebate, and you are now proceeding with the infrastructure install)
EV Ready plan + EV Ready infrastructure + EV charger rebates (only valid if your property created an EV Ready plan without a rebate, and you are now proceeding with the infrastructure install)
EV Ready infrastructure + EV charger rebates (only valid if you’ve previously completed the EV Ready plan rebate)

Application process

Rebates require you to get pre-approval from BC Hydro before proceeding with any work.

Here’s how the application process works:

Apply for pre-approval – You’ll receive a confirmation number via email.
Wait to be pre-approved – We’ll notify you via email, usually within 30 days.
Complete your project – Get the EV Ready plan prepared or infrastructure and/or chargers installed. Be sure to have your contractor complete the required documentation.
Submit your final application – Come back and submit your project invoices and documentation.
We’ll review your documents – If approved, we’ll send your rebate payment with 90 days.

You should only continue with this application if you have already completed an EV Ready plan that meets the program requirements, did not receive a rebate for it, and are now proceeding with an EV Ready Infrastructure project to build the recommended solution of that plan.

Effective July 15, 2026 pre-approval became mandatory for the EV Ready Plan. Please apply for pre-approval and complete the EV Ready plan first, then apply for pre-approval for your EV Ready infrastructure project.

Strata or individual

Applicants can apply on behalf of their strata or residential building (if it doesn’t have a strata), or as individual owners. By applying, applicants are confirming that they have permission to apply from the authority which has jurisdiction over the collective property.

Strata applicants must be able to provide the strata’s common area utility account number. Individual applicants must provide their own utility account number.

Most applicants apply as a strata. If your strata doesn’t have a common area utility account number, please apply as an individual owner.

Eligibility Verification for Indigenous‑Specific Offers For verification, please upload documentation for each Indigenous business owner. This may include photos of First Nations status cards, Métis citizenship/registry cards, and/or Inuit beneficiary cards.

If an owner prefers not to upload a photo of their card or does not have one, they may upload a document confirming their Indigenous identity. Letters should come from official letterhead of Band, Government agency, or other recognized Indigenous organization authorized to verify community membership or connection.
