2005 Resource Options Report

In developing the 2006 Integrated Electricity Plan (IEP), BC Hydro committed to filing a Resource Options Report (ROR) with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) during the IEP process.

The Resource Options Report provides the scope of resource types available to generate electricity in B.C., and the attributes that describe them (costs, environmental effects, etc.). This information was used to create the generic resource blocks that formed the foundation for energy portfolios in the 2006 IEP process. Input from First Nations and stakeholders contributed to an accurate reflection of the resource options (biomass, wind, small hydro etc).

To obtain input, BC Hydro held a series of Resource Options workshops and met with industry representatives. The feedback gathered was used to prepare sections of the draft report.

2005 Resource Options Report

First Nations and stakeholders had two opportunities to comment on the Resource Options Report before it was filed. The Draft 2005 Resource Options Report was made available for public review and comment between May 5, 2005 to May 31, 2005. Input received within the comment periods was considered for incorporation into the report.

On June 13, 2005, BC Hydro filed the Resource Options Report with the BCUC for review:
