Overall system availabilty for fiscal 2011 was 82.3 per cent which is lower than the fiscal 2011 target of 86.5 per cent. Annual system availability varies significantly due to scheduled outages for planned maintenance and capital upgrades; however, such outages are scheduled so that BC Hydro's ability to generate sufficient electricity to meet customer demand is not adversely affected.
