EU18 Contractor and Subcontractor Health and Safety Training
BC Hydro does not track the percentage of contractors and subcontractors that undergo Health and Safety training; however, the company does expect that 100 per cent of its contractors and subcontractors have relevant health and safety training. Our contract documentation is set out accordingly. Contractors working on the power system must be appropriately trained and certified in system safety requirements (PSSP and WPP) and safe work regulations and practices (SPR), the same as for regular employees, before access to the power system is permitted. If there are other high risk hazards present, BC Hydro also will expect corresponding training has been carried out and appropriate worker certifications are in place.
