James P. Hatton, QC is a partner at Farris LLP.
James is currently a director and advisory board member for technology companies including STEMCELL Technologies, Canada's largest biotech company, and Aspect Biosystems, a world-leading 3D bioprinting company. James currently sits on the boards of: BC Tech, a non-profit dedicated to making British Columbia the best place to grow and scale a tech company; the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs, a charity that educates, mentors and connects women entrepreneurs; and LifeSciences BC, an industry-funded association that supports and represents the life sciences community of British Columbia.
James was president of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society for six years, and remains an honorary life director of that organization. James is a former board member of the Central City Foundation, one of Vancouver's oldest charitable organizations, established in 1907 by a group of citizens concerned about the number of homeless and hungry people living the Gastown area of Vancouver. James formerly served on the board of governors of Royal Roads University and the governing council of the National Research Council of Canada, the government of Canada's premier research, development and innovation organization.
