James P. Hatton, QC, is a partner at Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP.

Mr. Hatton is currently Chair of Life Science B.C. and a director of the Central City Foundation, one of Vancouver's oldest charitable organizations, established in 1907 by a group of citizens concerned about the number of homeless and hungry people living in the Gastown area of Vancouver. Mr. Hatton has formerly served on boards including the board of governors of Royal Roads University and the governing council of the National Research Council of Canada, the government of Canada's premier research, development and innovation organization.

Mr. Hatton was president of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society for six years, and remains an honourary life director of that organization. He is a former member of the Judicial Advisory Committee for British Columbia, responsible for assessing candidates from British Columbia for appointment as superior court judges.

Mr. Hatton will serve on BC Hydro's Board until December 31, 2019.
