What's new

Falls River Water Use Plan Order Review update

BC Hydro has completed the engagement process for its Falls River Water Use Plan Order Review and application for a Fisheries Act Authorization amendment.

The review, launched in November 2022, assessed whether current operating requirements are meeting intended outcomes and considered new issues identified since the Order was established in 2006.

In June 2026, we submitted our application to the Comptroller of Water Rights for review and decision. We believe the recommendations being put forward will provide the best balance of benefits across the interests raised during the review.

What's next?

We plan to submit a Fisheries Act Authorization amendment to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans later in 2026.
