1. Get up to $3,000 in enhanced rebates for energy-efficient home upgrades
Looking to make your home more energy efficient? Upgrading your home's electric space and water heating systems can provide big savings on your energy bills.
As a Hope resident, you can get a up to $3,000 in top-up rebates for completing these upgrades.
Heat pump water heaters
Heat pump water heaters can help you save on water heating costs. This is because they're 50% more efficient than standard electric water heaters.
Heat pumps
Heat pumps help you save on heating costs – they're up to three times more efficient than electric baseboards. Plus, they come with the added benefit of home cooling.

- Make sure your home is eligible for the program.
- If you're installing a heat pump, you'll need to work with a Home Performance Contractor Network member to be eligible for rebates.
- Ensure you choose an eligible product and that the installation follows our eligibility criteria. See the relevant rebate page for more detail:
- Complete your upgrade by March 31, 2024 and enter promo code PWDHOPE24 in your rebate application.
If your projects are complete and you have your documents ready, apply for your rebates.
2. Instant discount and free energy-saving products
Enjoy instant discounts on a variety of energy-saving products, including smart thermostats. Get $100 off bundles of three eligible smart thermostats, $50 off packs of two units, or up to $25 off single thermostats at select retailers from October 6, 2023, to January 26, 2024.
- Product must be on our list of eligible thermostats [PDF, 123 KB].
- Maximum 5 units per approved product, per customer transaction.
- Must be purchased at a participating retailer in our service territory only.
- Must be for 120/240 V line voltage (electric baseboard) heating. Smart thermostats must be CSA cybersecurity certified.
- Excludes mechanical and non-programmable thermostats and supporting devices (e.g. smart hubs and home kits, smart baseboards).
Homes that aren't heated electrically can apply for a free energy saving kit. The kit contains:
- Four LED bulbs
- Weatherstripping to reduce drafts around windows, doors and outlets
- Four window film packages
- High-efficiency showerhead
- Two water-saving tap aerators
- LED night light
- Fridge and freezer thermometer
- Step-by-step instruction guide [PDF, 3.4 MB] to help you install each product

3. Register your smart home products for Peak Rewards to earn $50+
Have you installed smart home products or added an EV charger to your home? You could be eligible to register for our Peak Rewards program and earn up $50 per device.
Hope residents with electric space heating or electric hot water heaters can also get Peak Rewards qualifying thermostats and load controllers installed for free, along with other energy saving devices through our direct install program.
4. Earn rewards with our Peak Saver program
Join our Peak Saver program and you could earn rewards on your electricity bill. Reduce your electricity use during short, two to three-hour periods – referred to as Peak Saver events – and earn a reward of $3 per event towards your bill. You can participate in as many events as you like.
- Alert: You'll receive an email alert notifying you of an upcoming Peak Saver event at least 24 hours in advance.
- Shift or reduce: Shift energy-heavy activities such as doing laundry or using the oven to before or after the Peak Saver event.
- Reward: If you're successful in reducing your electricity use by 20% during the event, you’ll earn a $3 reward. At the end of the program, we’ll add up your rewards and they’ll appear on your bill.
