Free energy-saving products and installation in select areas
We're offering residents in select areas of Vernon a complimentary in-person home assessment and installation of free energy-saving products valued over $500. This program is limited to invited customers located in areas of high growth and increasing electricity demand. These areas have the greatest opportunity to reduce demand, which helps us continue to maintain a safe and reliable electricity system.
We want to help you lower your electricity use while increasing the comfort of your home year-round. Apply below to take advantage of this opportunity to receive products that can increase your home's energy efficiency.
The offer
Accepted applicants will receive a complimentary in-person home assessment from our trusted partner CLEAResult. Based on your home's eligibility, product installation may include:
- Smart electric baseboard thermostats
- Smart electric load controller
- Water-saving products
- Water pipe insulation
- ENERGY STAR® LED bulbs
Smart devices will only be installed in homes that are electrically heated and that have electric and/or domestic hot water heating. Installed smart devices will be automatically enrolled in our Peak Saver program, where you can earn up to $100 a year for allowing us to manage your enrolled smart devices during times of high electricity demand.
Eligibility
Residents must live in Vernon, customer participation in this program is subject to BC Hydro's review and approval. BC Hydro retains sole discretion in determining customer eligibility, and participation is not guaranteed.
How to apply
Once you've confirmed that you meet the eligibility criteria and have reviewed the terms and conditions, complete the application at the bottom of this page by April 17, 2026. Please note that program dates may change due to limited space and funding, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
