Limited time discount at select sites

From August 1 to August 31, 2025, we're offering 50% off public fast charging rates at the following electric vehicle (EV) charging sites selected for this pilot project:

How it works

To get the temporary discount, visit any of the pilot sites from August 1 to August 31, 2025 and complete your charging session using your preferred activation method. The discount will appear in the BC Hydro EV app, Plugshare, and ChargeHub. The pilot sites also have signage showing information about the discount.

Please note that if you activate a charging session using one of our roaming partner apps, the discounted rate may not appear on the app, but will still be applied to your session.

Why we're doing this pilot project

We're always looking for opportunities to improve customers' EV charging experiences. What we learn through pilots will help us shape future improvements, making public charging easier, more convenient, and more reliable for all EV drivers.

Terms and conditions

EV Charging Pilot Project #1 provides a discounted rate of $0.1804 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for BC Hydro's energy-based EV fast charging rates at select pilot sites (the "Pilot Offer"), subject to:

  1. Pilot Offer is valid for a limited time only from August 1, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) to August 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

  2. No discount on idle fees, roaming fees, taxes or parking fees.

  3. Pilot Offer is only available at select pilot sites.

  4. BC Hydro cannot guarantee cost savings overall, since the discount is on energy-based rates (cost per kWh), not on the total charging session cost. For example, if a driver charges more than usual, their total costs may be higher even with a discounted rate.

  5. Pilot Offer is a BC Hydro initiative. Site hosts are not affiliated with the pilot. For questions, EV drivers can call BC Hydro's Contact Centre at 1 866 338 3369.
