Downed transmission towers cause outages in Aiyansh and Stewart

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – Two transmission towers have been downed due to a falling tree on the Skeena-Aiyansh line serving the communities of Stewart and Aiyansh. The towers are located approximately 14 kilometres north of Terrace, BC.

For safety reasons, the 138 kilovolt transmission line has been de-energized. BC Hydro crews are on site to respond. All measures to ensure safety and environmental due diligence are being followed. There are no safety risks to the public.
