W.A.C. Bennett Dam Visitor Centre
Take a tour and enjoy our new visitor centre experience
The W.A.C. Bennett Dam Visitor Centre, located about a 1.5-hour drive from Fort St. John in northeast B.C., is open for the 2017 season from May 20 to September 4.
From the Visitor Centre, you'll get a wonderful view of the Williston Reservoir, the largest reservoir in the province. The reservoir is held back by one of the world's largest earth-fill structures, our W.A.C. Bennett Dam.
New visitor centre and café
If you haven't been here for a few years, you'll notice a big change. We've created a new visitor centre that offer a wider range of exhbits around dam construction, wildlife in the area, how we turn water into electricity, and a First Nations Gallery.
We also have a brand new café, where our guests can enjoy lunch or a snack and a gift shop, where you can get a souvenir to remember your trip to the W.A.C. Bennett Dam.
Looking to get the full BC Hydro northern experience? Be sure to stop by the Peace Canyon Dam and take in the view from a beautiful new viewing deck which is located 30 km south of the W.A.C. Bennett Dam.
