W.A.C. Bennett Dam Visitor Centre
The W.A.C. Bennett Dam Visitor Centre is now open for the season.
If you're planning a trip, here's some important information you will need.
What you'll see once you're here
The first thing you'll see is a beautiful view from outside our Visitor Centre. You'll be looking at the Williston Reservoir, the largest reservoir in the province. The reservoir is held back by one of the world's largest earth-fill structures, our W.A.C. Bennett Dam.
To match the wonder and enormity of the dam and reservoir we have created a brand new centre. Enjoy a wide range of new exhibits where you can learn about dam construction, wildlife in the area and how we turn water into electricity.
We also have a brand new café, where our guests can enjoy lunch or a snack and a gift shop, where you can get a souvenir to remember your trip to the W.A.C. Bennett Dam.
Looking to get the full BC Hydro Northern experience? Be sure to stop by the Peace Canyon Dam and take in the view from a beautiful new viewing deck which is located 30 km south of the W.A.C. Bennett Dam.
The W.A.C. Bennett Dam Visitor Centre is located in the northeast of British Columbia, in the town of Hudson's Hope located about 1.5 hours drive from Fort St. John. From Highway 29 take Canyon Drive 21 km up to the Williston Reservoir. View the map below of the W.A.C. Bennett Dam Visitor Centre for specific directions.
