The Revelstoke Dam Visitor Centre is now open for the season.
If you're planning a trip, here is some important information you will need.
Join us for Family Fun Day on July 24
We're celebrating Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 24 at the Revelstoke Dam Visitor Centre.
There's a lot to do including guided tours, interactive exhibits, face painting and many more Family Fun Day activities, so bring the whole family.
The Revelstoke Humane Society will be onsite collecting donations in lieu of admission fees.
What you'll see once you're here
Our guests park directly in front of one of the most powerful dams in B.C. You'll have a chance to get up close to the second largest generating facility on the Columbia River. When the powerhouse started generating power in 1984, it produced 1,980 megawatts with four generating units. Since the addition of the fifth unit in 2010, the dam's output increased by 500 megawatts.
With guided or self-guided tours, guests can take in a breathtaking view of the dam and the Columbia River Valley from the dam crest at 175 metres above the river.
The Revelstoke Dam Visitor Centre is located only 5 km north of the town of Revelstoke on HWY 23N. View the map of the Revelstoke Dam Visitor Centre for specific directions.
Hours of operation
The Visitor Centre is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day from May 21 to September 5, 2016.
