I signed up as an AccountOnline user over a year ago. Why can't I log in now?
If you haven't logged in since February 2004, your password has expired and needs to be reset. Please email or call customer service to reset your password.

Can I register more than one account?
Yes, you may register any of your current BC Hydro accounts for online access.

If you register an account in your name that a relative or work colleague has previously registered for online access, they are considered the administrator for that account. They are the only person able to make any changes to the billing method (paper or online billing) or the online description.

I have concerns about security. What have you done to protect my account information?
To ensure the privacy of your information, BC Hydro's online services have built-in safeguards:

  • When you sign up, you select your own password.
  • The only way to access any account information is by entering the valid user ID and your password. Access is denied after five invalid entries.
  • We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology (128-bit), a recognized, secure method to further protect your account information.
  • If you forget your password, you must correctly answer the security question you provided when you signed up.

As a final precaution to ensure your privacy, please do not share your password with others.

Do you use cookies?
Yes, bchydro.com generates a cookie (a data field stored on your computer), which is removed when you exit your browser. It contains no personal information. The cookie is used in place of your account number, so that as you move between pages you do not have to re-enter your user ID and password each time.

Sometimes when I enter my password I get a message saying it is invalid. Why?
It may be because passwords are case sensitive. Try again, making sure all the letters are in the same case as when you first signed up (e.g. lowercase).

Alternatively, your account may be locked out, if you have had five invalid log in attempts.

I have two account numbers for my house ("Electric Plus"). How do I use the Analyze My Home tool?
You can add both accounts to view the billing information for each. However, you cannot combine consumption information when using the Analyze My Home tool.
