Recreation Area Closures/Restrictions
Buntzen Lake
Please be advised that the floating bridge section of the Buntzen Lake Recreation Area remains closed for construction. The Equestrian Lot will be closed on May 27 and May 28 for construction related activities.
Please refer to the trail maps on our website and plan an alternate route.
Hayward Lake
Please be advised that the Railway Trail remains closed at this time due to a high risk of landslides.
Jones Lake
The Jones Lake Campground and Day Use area are currently closed and inaccessible due to continued high snow levels.
Road and campground closures at Strathcona Dam
BC Hydro is providing advance notice of its Strathcona Dam Safety Upgrade Project. Seismic upgrades to Strathcona Dam, located between Upper Campbell Reservoir and Lower Campbell Reservoir, is scheduled to begin in 2009 and be complete by 2011. During this time the road across Strathcona Dam will be closed, along with access to the Strathcona Dam Campground and Recreation Site. For the three year construction period the public will need to use alternative road routes and recreation sites.
