Save on select ENERGY STAR refrigerators, clothes washers, dishwashers and freezers through our Appliance Rebate Program.

How much can I save?

You could be eligible for a Power Smart Appliance Rebate of between $25 and $75 when you buy a select ENERGY STAR labelled clothes washer or refrigerator or any ENERGY STAR  dishwasher or freezer. You'll also get all the energy and water saving benefits of using an energy-efficient appliance.

Which appliances qualify?

Only models listed on the Product Eligibility Search Tool are qualified for the Power Smart Appliance Rebate Program – these select ENERGY STAR qualified products represent the highest standards of efficiency. How rebate-eligible appliances are selected.

How do I apply?

Within 90 days of your purchase of a qualifying appliance, follow the application steps outlined below to get your Power Smart Appliance Rebate. Are you a commercial customer?

What's ENERGY STAR and EnerGuide?

energy_starENERGY STAR is an international symbol of high energy efficiency – it identifies products that can save energy without compromising features, style or comfort.

EnerGuide is required by Government of Canada to be placed on all new electrical appliances sold in Canada – it rates the energy consumption and efficiency of products.

Save on select ENERGY STAR appliances

The following rebates are currently available on the most efficient ENERGY STAR labelled appliances between January 1 and June 30, 2012. Only products listed on the qualified lists are eligible for a rebate.

How to apply for a mail-in rebate

Step 1

Qualify

Purchase a qualified appliance between January 1 and June 30, 2012.

Apply

Choose one of two application form options. With both options, you'll need to print the form, sign it and mail it in. The online version saves time and is designed to speed up delivery of the rebate.

Mail in

Submitting your completed rebate form.

  • Sign your rebate application form
  • Attach copies of all invoices or receipts showing the appliance purchase. Receipt must show model number and purchase date.
  • Submit your application within 90 days of the appliance purchase to:

Terms and conditions

  • The appliance must be ordered and purchased between January 1 and June 30, 2012, or until program funding is exhausted.
  • Signed mail-in rebate forms must be submitted within 90 days of purchase along with a proof of purchase.
  • Only one application for each appliance type (i.e. clothes washer, refrigerator, dishwasher and freezer) will be accepted per household per customer.
  • A rebate cheque is generally mailed within 10-12 weeks. Use our Rebate Status Tracker for updates after you've submitted your rebate application.
  • Customer must be a BC Hydro or City of New Westminster residential customer. The appliance must be installed in a residential dwelling within the BC Hydro or City of New Westminster service areas.
  • Full Terms and Conditions for each appliance rebate can be found on the mail-in application forms above.
  • Appliance must be a model included on the "Qualifying Product List" found above.

How rebate-eligible appliances are selected

  • Clothes washers must have a Modified Energy Factor (MEF) of 2.4 or higher and a Water Factor (WF) of 4.0 or lower.
  • Refrigerators must be at least 25% more efficient than the federal standard.
  • All ENERGY STAR-labelled dishwashers and freezers are eligible for the rebate.
