Save both money and energy when you buy select ENERGY STAR® appliances

Get a mail-in rebate when you purchase select ENERGY STAR clothes washers, refrigerators, dishwashers, or freezers between June 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011, or when funding for the program is exhausted.  Also check our Other Appliance Offers page for limited-time offers.

Save energy

You'll benefit from using less energy and reducing your energy bill. While all ENERGY STAR labelled appliances are efficient, there are appliances that are even more energy efficient. Look for the SAVE MORE with ENERGY STAR label on appliances; it identifies the most energy-efficient appliances.

Save money

For a limited time, the following rebates will be available on select ENERGY STAR labelled appliances:

Select ENERGY STAR labelled clothes washers.
*Qualifying models must have an MEF of 2.4 or greater and WF of 4.0 or less.		$50
Select ENERGY STAR labelled refrigerators.
*Qualifying models must be at least 25% more efficient than the federal standard.		$50
Select ENERGY STAR labelled dishwashers.
*Qualifying models must use less than 295 kWh/yr.		$25
ENERGY STAR labelled freezers.$25

How to apply for a mail-in rebate

Step 1: Read the applicable list of qualifying products below

Step 2: Choose one of two application form options. With both options, you'll need to print the form, sign it and mail it in. The online version saves time and is designed to speed up delivery of the rebate.

Step 3: Submitting your completed rebate form.

  1. Sign your rebate application form.
  2. Attach copies of all invoices or receipts showing the appliance purchase. Receipt must show model number and purchase date.
  3. Submit your application within 90 days of the appliance purchase to:

Terms and Conditions

The appliance must be purchased and ordered between June 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011, or until program funding is exhausted.

Appliance must be a model included on the “Qualifying Product List” found above. Signed mail-in rebate forms must be submitted within 90 days of purchase along with a proof of purchase. 

A rebate cheque is generally mailed within 10-12 weeks. Only one application for each appliance type (i.e. clothes washer, refrigerator, dishwasher and freezer) will be accepted per household per customer. Customer must be a BC Hydro or City of New Westminster residential customer.

The appliance must be installed in a residential dwelling within the BC Hydro or City of New Westminster service areas. Download full Terms and Conditions [PDF, 26 Kb].
