How Power is Restored
Estimated restoration times
We try to provide an accurate time estimation of when the power will be back on. Sometimes we can bypass a problem and restore power sooner than expected. In other cases, the cause of the power outage may be difficult to locate or access, or there may be several problems, so the repair may take longer than estimated.
In severe storms, the situation can change from moment to moment. In these conditions, we cannot always provide an estimate of restoration times early in a storm situation. Public safety takes precedence at all times. In severe storm conditions, BC Hydro will ask for customers' understanding and patience until power can be restored.
