Peter Powell is a Corporate Director and Financial Consultant. He retired from a 27-year career in investment banking with BMO-Nesbitt Burns Inc. (and predecessor companies) where he served as Senior Vice-President and Managing Director. Prior to that, he was Vice-Chairman of Burns Fry Limited.
Mr. Powell is a Director of Timber Investments Ltd., Riverside Forest Products Ltd., and Rav Project Management Ltd. (Ravco), and has served on the boards of Genyous Inc. and Genyous Life Services Inc. He is a past Governor of the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company, and a past Director of the Oarlock and Sail Wooden Boat Club.
Mr. Powell holds his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Loyola College and a Master of Business Administration from York University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and prior to retirement was a Chartered Business Valuator.
Mr. Powell will serve a three-year term on BC Hydro's Board, until May 8, 2011.
