Executive Vice-President, Finance, Technology, Supply Chain and Chief Financial Officer
Cheryl Yaremko was appointed BC Hydro's Executive Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer in July 2012, after acting in the position since December 2011 and has since added Supply Chain and Information Technology to her Portfolio. She joined BC Hydro in 2006 and previously served as our Chief Accounting Officer.
Cheryl has accountability for the Finance, Supply Chain and the Information Technology Groups. Finance functions include financial reporting & policy, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and internal audit. In September 2013 she took on accountability for the Supply Chain function at BC Hydro, which includes company-wide procurement, materials management and fleet. In July 2016 the Information Technology function was added to her portfolio. These groups are valued business partners and provide critical support to the business.
Before joining BC Hydro, Cheryl was the Chief Financial Officer for BC Railway Company and, previous to that, was the Corporate Controller at Western Star Trucks Holdings and a Manager at Ernst & Young. She currently serves on the board of British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (bcIMC) and previously served on the boards of UBC Investment Management Trust, InTransit BC, Ballet BC and the national board of FEI Canada.
Cheryl is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), with a Major in Finance, from the University of British Columbia.
