FWCP Funding

Since 1988, the FWCP has invested over $100 million in more than 1,500 projects.

Projects are chosen based on technical merit, cost versus benefit, level of partnership, linkages to watershed-specific priorities and overall benefit to the FWCP's mandate and vision.

Applications submissions for funding in 2013 is now closed in the Coastal, Columbia and Peace Regions.

    Development of a new delivery model is underway and is a priority for FWCP staff and committees. Proponents are welcome to submit project applications for projects to be implemented between April 2013 to March 2014, but changes to the delivery model and priorities may limit funding available. Project applications and funding availability will be further reviewed after November 15, 2012 . Please note there is no differentiation between large and small project funding for this coming year.

Peace Region Application Process

Note: In October 2012 the Peace FWCP initiated a strategic planning process to create a Basin Plan and Action Plans that identify priorities for species and habitats in the Williston and Dinosaur basins. The Peace FWCP target is to have working Action Plans by September 2013 to support the acceptance of project proposals by the 'project intake' date of November 1, 2013. If you are seeking funding for a project, or wish to discuss a project idea prior to this project intake date, please contact the Program Manager.

Confidentiality

Prior to final funding decisions, all information on proposed projects (either as disclosed by Applicants or included in applications), will be treated as confidential unless agreed otherwise at the request of Applicants.

After funding decisions have been made, information on projects approved for funding, including proposals and information generated in implementation, will be considered to be the shared property of the Applicant and the FWCP, and will be available to the public.

The general rationale for FWCP funding decisions will be made public. Details of project applications not approved for funding remain confidential and will be considered private and subject to provisions of the Privacy Act .
