In north-central B.C., the FWCP has been working in the Williston and Dinosaur reservoir watersheds since 1988. This vast watershed is nearly the size of Scotland and home to 24 fish species and 295 wildlife species

Our work

In the Peace Region, the FWCP annual budget of just over $1 million supports numerous large and small-scale projects.

  • Habitat enhancement: This includes restoration of lakes, rivers, forests and marshes with the aim of returning them to a natural state where fish and wildlife can survive and thrive.
  • Species monitoring: Monitoring projects examine the populations and behaviours of key species to help us determine what type of habitat restoration and enhancement initiative would be most appropriate.
  • Planning, inventory and research: Research and planning is critical to our programs as we determine which projects would best serve our mandate and do the most to support our precious natural environment.
