Bumble Bee vs. Crab Spider (Lynn Westcott)

Since 1999, the FWCP has been working in British Columbia's Coastal Region, which includes Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, Interior Fraser and Mainland Fraser areas.

Our work

Every year, the FWCP has $1.7 million available for fish and wildlife projects in the Coastal Region. These projects fall into three general categories:

  • Restoration: Following watershed-level restoration objectives set out in our strategic watershed plans, these projects reduce or offset impacts by maintaining and restoring natural habitats
  • Conservation: Through the support of conservation projects, we can conserve important habitats that remain intact and protect lands for future restoration activities
  • Research: We support research that will fill information gaps in our strategic planning, identify limiting factors and lead to the development of restoration objectives and conservation measures
